This linoprint is based on a photo I took in 2005 at Anne Frank’s former home on Merwedeplein in Amsterdam. The old Bakelite switch struck me as a silent witness to a life interrupted, yet also as a universal symbol of change. Switch reflects the instant of transition — from past to future, darkness to light, stillness to motion. A small object that quietly invites us to move forward.
