This linoprint was my first work after leaving the Zaans Museum in 2021. It is based on Claude Monet’s The Voorzaan and the Westerhem, which I acquired for the museum in 2015. Adieu, Zaandam serves both as homage and farewell — to a time spent among artworks and to a city that shaped me. Its muted tones and loose printing texture convey melancholy and freedom: the start of a new chapter.
