Jan Hovers

I am a visual artist and musician. In my work I create parallel worlds as refuges from the everyday — places where memory, dream and imagination converge.
My linoprints, paintings, music and podcasts form atmospheric narratives in which past and present intertwine. I draw on personal experience, found sounds and fragments of cultural heritage: from old 78-rpm records to forgotten voices and images.
Misaligned layers, accidental imperfections, a hiss or an echo — that is where the magic lies for me.
Everything I create is part of a neoromantic Gesamtkunstwerk, through which I seek to bring untold stories to life.
